Thirty Years of MOTU: Feb- Shadow Weaver, Fisto and The Sorceress!

February brings Masters of the Universe Classics fans the best installment to date!

ShadW 1 1024x479 Thirty Years of MOTU: Feb Shadow Weaver, Fisto and The Sorceress!

Starting with Shadow Weaver the 2012 Club Eternia Exclusive figure.  This is the very first Shadow Weaver ever created in figure form that is officially from Mattel.  Shadow Weaver is the Hordes evil witch who serves Hordak but assists Skeletor in an episode of the She-Ra cartoon.  Having a lesser amount of articulation to keep the form of Shadow Weaver’s outfit, this figure is still detailed to satisfaction for fans.  The arms and head have the usual articulation with the base of the figure being open and showing the pegging that holds it together and a hole for the stand.  Shadow Weaver has a hanging cape on her back that works with her arms when they are raised.

Including a detailed spell book, wand with translucent clear, crystal ball and a clear funnel-like stand, Shadow Weaver can “float” above the ground as she “walks.”

The back of the package has a She-Ra and Horde based “also available” and a bio which is fine because it seems to be based on the She-Ra cartoon which works for me.

Also included with Shadow Weaver is a map poster of Preternia which has full color detail and area names throughout.

Shadow Weaver is a long awaited character that the fans were going nuts over, such as screaming for it to be taken out of the subscription service as being the exclusive figure.  If anything, I feel that Shadow Weaver is better than last years Preternia Disguise He-Man which I have finally taken a liking to (took a year, but I actually like the concept and the figure itself, especially the accessory of the Cosmic Key).

Shadow Weaver is also supposed to be the first sculpt based on the Filmation cartoon.  Either way anyone wants to describe her, I think she’s a great figure.

Fisto 1 697x1024 Thirty Years of MOTU: Feb Shadow Weaver, Fisto and The Sorceress!

Fisto, one of the favorites from the 80’s, this tough warrior is sculpted so well, he almost comes to life!  Called Battle Fist in 200X because Fisto sounded like a lewd sexual act….actually, I’m guessing they didn’t own the name of their own character…doesn’t make sense.  So, anyhow, Battle Fist is such a lame name for a human character to have I actually passed up on getting the figure because I just didn’t want to see that name on the box.

Fisto 2 Thirty Years of MOTU: Feb Shadow Weaver, Fisto and The Sorceress!

The Fisto action figure comes complete with his 80’s style armor and his purple Tri-Clops sword with the handguard—something the Power Swords do not have.  Fisto can also be changed into Battle Fist—oh please—200X Fisto with a second head that has his metal headband/crown and his belt (packed behind the lower right of the bubble).  Also included is a huge “buster” sword that actually resembles Cloud’s from Final Fantasy VII.  This sword was said to have been canceled at the last minute in creating the 200X Fisto, either way, it’s really cool!  The huge sword fits into a slot on the back of Fisto’s armor…At least they called him Fisto in the 200X cartoon.  Finally, Fisto’s huge-honking silver metal fist used for bashing heads in is very well detailed and really is the main part of his accessories—even if its meant to be a part of him.

Fisto 3 755x1024 Thirty Years of MOTU: Feb Shadow Weaver, Fisto and The Sorceress!

The back of the package has a mixed “also available” and his bio which is almost exact to the 200X story line which is why I like it—yeah, I finally like a bio!

Fisto is simply great and I’m really impressed with the figure, he was sold out in a half hour so he was the popular one.  I don’t recommend many figures on the aftermarket, but Fisto is the exception, so if you want him, take a deep breath and say: Lowest price plus shipping and go to ebay or do a search for a shop.

Sorc 1 Thirty Years of MOTU: Feb Shadow Weaver, Fisto and The Sorceress!

The best of the batch, that’s why I got a second one to open.  The Sorceress of Castle Grayskull is the figure EVERYONE has been waiting for (even if you havn’t been waiting for her, you have, live with it)!  Whether helping He-Man or in peril to Skeletor, the Sorceress is always the calming, gentle guide and friend to all of the heroes of Eternia.  A character that you never want to see in a negative way, the Sorceress is truly the guiding light of the world of Masters of the Universe.

Sorc 2 Thirty Years of MOTU: Feb Shadow Weaver, Fisto and The Sorceress!

A hero to her village in the 80’s cartoon, great friend to Man-At-Arms and the mother of Teela; the Sorceress makes an impact throughout the story in many ways.

The Sorceress was one of the last figures created in the mid to late 80’s and is difficult to find these days, but the 80’s figure doesn’t compare to this one—the Classics figure is excellent!

Sorc 3 1024x1008 Thirty Years of MOTU: Feb Shadow Weaver, Fisto and The Sorceress!

The Sorceress comes complete with her white staff and Zoar the falcon in her colors with red armor and perch.  By raising her arms, the Sorceress’ wings drop open to give the look of the 80’s figure.

Sorc 4 799x1024 Thirty Years of MOTU: Feb Shadow Weaver, Fisto and The Sorceress!

The wings are on large “rivets” attached to her shoulders and they move freely, however they can be moved the way one likes within their range.  My Sorceress’ wings mostly stayed in the positions that I put them in other than the natural raised arm position, but they are meant to be loose to hang as they are in the photos.

Sorc 5 820x1024 Thirty Years of MOTU: Feb Shadow Weaver, Fisto and The Sorceress!

The articulation of the figure is pretty vast as with the other figures featuring the newer female body introduced with Bubble Power She-Ra.

Sorc 6 Thirty Years of MOTU: Feb Shadow Weaver, Fisto and The Sorceress!

The back of the package features character related “also available” figures and the bio is after the 80’s cartoon and also the early mini comics when she was The Goddess.

GRADE: A+++

The best figure selection, something that I don’t think will be topped the rest of the year, subscribers already know most of the figures for the year, lets see what happens.
