Joystiq has reported that the subscription fee for Xbox Live will increase starting November 1st. One month will rise from $7.99 to $9.99; three months from $19.99 to $24.99; and a full year from $49.99 to $59.99. I haven’t used Xbox Live for a couple of years now because I switched my online play to PS3. It seems like video game companies are trying to find more ways to make more money. Activision is planning to charge extra for their new Call Of Duty game while Sony is offering exclusive content for PS3.
I’m a cheap bastard so if I have to pay extra, I just won’t get the service/game. I’m happy with what I have but we’ll find out in January how well these “extra service charges” are doing when reports are made to the public.
