On Monday, October 18 starting at 6pm, a retrospective of images shot by award-winning WireImage photographer Denise Truscello will be showcased at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel’s Mandarin Bar located in City Center on the Las Vegas Strip. 

In a burgeoning career spanning 15 years, Denise has travelled around the world and photographed just about every celebrity there is, and that goes for athletes, actors, politicians, and musicians. 

Some of her more well-known works include CD photos for Celine Dion, Boys II Men and The Killers Sawdust album.  While the life of a photo-journalist might seem glamorous, the job has taken Denise to places like flying on the astronaut training plane with Buzz Aldrin to photograph at zero gravity.  Denise has also documented first-hand the aftermath of tragedies like 9/11, the L’Aquila, Italy earthquake and the BP oil spill and still somehow finds the time to fund a youth education through tennis charity in Ethiopia.

Inspired by French landscapes and architecture, Denise started out with a 35 mm just shooting around Paris.  Through a mutual friend, legendary photographer Edouard Boubat was asked to visit a local bookstore where Denise was showing some of her work

and was so impressed that he became her mentor until his death in 1999.  She gained an invaluable education from Mr. Boubat and returned to Vegas to work for the Review-Journal newspaper shooting breaking news and celebrity events.  When the Paris Hotel and Casino opened they optioned numerous images from her collection to grace their walls.  Not long after, Denise was approached by Kevin Mazur, founder of WireImage, and with his help founded the WireImage Las Vegas office in 2001.  Now the company has thousands of photographers worldwide on its roster.

Denise is widely respected for her professionalism and dedication to her craft.  Celine Dion has said that “Denise is a sensitive and talented photographer.  She has that unique quality of seizing the moment where the soul meets the eye.”  Famed landscape photographer Peter Lik has donated his time and resources to providing the high-quality enlargements of Denise’s photos for the event.  Denise also manages local rock band Devilcar who will be performing an acoustic set at her show.  To see more of Denise’s work, go to www.denisetruscello.net or join us at the Mandarin on October 18 at 6pm.  The showcase is open to the public.
