The question: “Who’s your favorite DC character and why?”
The prize: Superman/Batman: Apocalypse Blu-Ray
Many joined and chose Batman as their favorite DC character. Some picked Superman while a few went with Green Lantern. One suprised us by going with Martian Manhunter. Overall, it was exciting reading all of the entries. Some were funny like this one from Chris J:
“Also he (Superman) reminds me of my grandfather because he wears his underwear outside his pants.”
We laughed for a good minute.
Most people chose Batman because he doesn’t have super powers, which makes him a true hero. But the winner of the contest came from Mike B:
“Batman is my all-time favorite Dc character because when my brother and I were growing up in the 70?s, we watched the Adam West show every day and he got to be Batman, while I was forced to be Robin. Soon sports entered into his life fulltime and comics took a backseat. As the years went on I slowly eased into the Batman seat until his reign as the Caped Crusader ended and mine began. The cowl quest takes on a much morte personal meaning to me from the memories of our daily fights as to who was who. Ever since I earned the mantle of the Bat (in our household), Batman has become my favorite DC character.”
It was a hard decision but in the end we chose Mike because he had to fight for his role as Batman. He earned it by being the Boy Wonder for a long time before taking over the Caped Crusader’s costume. We love the good (and bad) memories Mike had of Batman. This is what being a nerd is all about, being enthusiastic and excited for your favorite superhero!
