The big release for this weekend is the low budget Piranha 3-D and surprisingly getting great reviews. It’s at 82% on Rotten Tomatoes and Darkhorizons.com said “Loved it! Cheesy disgusting nerve-wracking fun! Boobs in 3D.” Sounds like a guilty pleasure movie!
Other movies being released this week includes:
Vampires Suck which is at 6%. Boston Globe wrote: “With Vampires Suck, the film is just as guilty as the vampires.” I’d say this movie is even worse that the Twilight movies. The third Twilight had mixed reviews.
Nanny McPhee Returns has an above average score of 77%. Washington Post described the film: “It can take a miracle to create a movie that’s fun for kids and their parents. Luckily, Nanny McPhee has a little magic up her sleeve. ” This sounds like an enjoyable family film.
Lottery Ticket is at 29%. Based on the trailer, it looked like it could be as fun as Friday but New York Daily News writes: “Though the movie looks good and rarely lags on energy, the careless script is filled with tired stereotypes and easy clichés.” Maybe it is too similar to other comedies and there’s no originality behind it.
The Switch is Jennifer Aniston’s latest flick and it’s at 54%. Maybe Detroit News summed it up best “It’s not a bad film, really, just sort of average. But Bateman is so good in it — natural, funny, yet full of real emotion — that you immediately want to see him again in a better film.”
There are your choices for new movies this weekend. I’ll probably go check out Piranha 3-D if I have time but it won’t be my top priority.

i saw Vampire Sucks and thought it was really funny. I think its a lot more funnier if you seen the twilight movies, because you then get a lot of the jokes.
I may go see Piranha now, though it wasnt that great the first time around….
