Lots of good movies are coming out this weekend.  Ben Affleck is in a crime drama, while Emma Stone (Superbad) is in a Juno type flick.  For all you Facebook lovers, there’s a suspense thriller called Catfish.  Devil, produced by M Night seems to be a stinker.  Let’s take a look at the reviews.

Directed and starring Ben Affleck, The Town is getting a nearly perfect review with 90% at Rotten Tomatoes.  The crime drama is described as part Heat and part Mystic River.  Filmcritic.com describes it as “Compelling, complex, and crackling with suspense, Affleck’s sophomore effort is every bit as good as his first foray into feature filmmaking.”

Emma Stone is in another high school movi called The Easy A.  This time she plays a nerd that pretends not to be a virgin so she can be popular. The trailer looks fun and getting a great 83% positive rating.  Boston Globe likes the movie: “Until it spins manically out of control in the last act, Easy A is a charmer: a high school satire with a lethally sharp script and a big, smart, adorable star performance from Emma Stone.”

Catfish also opens this weekend.  This one is a documentary about finding that “connection” through facebook only to find out that it’s not what it seems.  It’s getting an above average rating with 75% rating.  AP gave is a positive review, “For all its intensity and mystery, though, there’s still a welcome note of uplift at the end. And that’s a surprise, too.”

The Devil, produced by M Night Shyamalan isn’t screened for critics so you know it’s crap.  But you also know what that means, it can be #1 at the box office just like last week’s unscreened Resident Evil: 3D.
