If you’re a fan of the AMC zombie show like I am, you’re probably going through Walking Dead withdrawals as season 2 has ended and we won’t be seeing season 3 until probably late in the fall. But here are a few tidbits to tide you over.

First, as you might’ve already heard, season 3 will have 3 additional episodes bringing it to 16!  Second, AMCtv.com is having a sweepstakes for two tickets to the Season 3 premier PLUS a trip to Greg Nicotero’s ENB EFX Studio where they will make a bust of you as a walker!  To enter, click here: Walking Dead Sweepstakes. You just have two more days left.

Okay, next, on July 7-8, AMC will be showing a Walking Dead Season 3 Preview Marathon. Starting at 11:30 am pacific/10:30 am central,  all 19 episodes of the first seasons will be aired culminating in a live Talking Dead primetime special on Sunday at 9/8 c with Christ Hardwick. During the show, Hardwick will be showing a scene from season 3 and giving out a code which you can use to enter the Walking Dead Watch-to-Win Sweepstakes. The winner of this one gets a trip to Atlanta to film scenes as a walker!

Now for the character spoilers…. During season 1, the characters left Daryl’s dirtbag brother handcuffed to a pipe on the roof of a building. When they came back, all that was left was his hand. Well, it looks like the redneck brothers will be reunited in season 3. Here’s a pic of Merle with a shiny new appendage:

This is Danai Guirira as Michonne, the hooded woman with the sword (and the two walkers sans arms that were chained to her by their necks) who saved Andrea at the end of season 2.

In case you haven’t heard, The Walking Dead comics (which inspired the TV show) are the hottest selling comic books on the market. The following pics show a collection of Walking Dead comics that go back to #1 and belongs to Steven Riddle, owner of Velvet Underground Comics in Las Vegas.  Some of these same issues have sold for hundreds of dollars on ebay in the past, particularly first appearances of characters like the Governor and Michonne; the #1 has gone for over a thousand. These are all first printings and in immaculate condition. Don’t expect to find these for sale at the store, however. These are from his private collection.
