In 1984, Robo Force came onto the scene featuring a selection of robots with interesting articulation. The most notable movement’s were in the arms which were crimped hollow plastic. By depressing a button on the figure’s back, the arms would pull together in a crushing motion. Both arms could rotate 360 degrees.
Although these figures resembled the Dalek’s from Doctor Who they were far different. Their way of exterminating was: interchangeable weapons which resembled futuristic guns and other assorted melee such as a spiked mace.
Each of the robots had a suction cup on the bottom which allowed him to stay in place on car windows for the long ride to grandma’s.
In the case of Maxx, he had a storage hatch on his chest where his weapon could be stored.
Maxx was the leader of the good guys.
With the villain’s being led by Hun-dred.
I remember my brother having quite a few of both the good bots and a few of the bad ones. There was also a TV show that didn’t last long, I believe it was just a one time only thing.
All in all, Maxx Steele Robo Force was a very interesting figure set back in the day, I hope you, the reader; enjoyed…

I’m really enjoying these vintage toys of the week articles. They bring back good memories of a time that seems so close yet was so long ago.
Keep up the good work.
