If I count; I’ve waited 25 years for this figure.
Gloria Baker was the only female member of the M.A.S.K. team. The vehicle she drove was called “Shark.” This vehicle has so many rumors and urban legends having to do with the toy it’s not funny anymore. Some of these are that it existed for a day, a few hours, “I have one, but I lost it” so much bull and no proof. So, I know if I simply say, “It didn’t exist, ever!” People would start screaming and going nuts. That’s my view though–everyone else can enjoy their fantasy of finding fakes on ebay.
Anyhow, this is about the figure. Gloria is from the “Split Seconds” collection. This was the last toy line of M.A.S.K. before the cartoon and toys were ended in 1987 after the “Racing Series.” (Sad day for me…)
This figure came with “Stiletto” which was a Lamborghini colored white with blue. The car “Split” into a little plane and…(something like a…well, let’s just call it a tank.) “It was a _____ moron!”
There were two figures included. One was the Gloria in the photo and the other was of the same mold, except translucent or clear. Both had “masks” and one was used for each vehicle.
This figure is obviously new and MIB “Mint In Baggie.” It’s just beautiful! To have this after 25 years (from the first time I saw the character on TV) or 23 years since it came out as a toy. It’s just wonderful!
It’s odd how the figure resembles “Pilot” Scarlett from the current G.I. Joe line…?

White Gloves, white lower legs, blue suit and silver upper body, (under Scarlett's vest.)
Will I take it out of the package and put it with the rest of my M.A.S.K. collection? Sure! When a doctor tells me I have a week to live I will open her up (and everything else that’s packaged) and go nuts!
I plan to put the bagged figure in something for display, if the acid from the plastic hasn’t damaged it by now, another 20-some years will be just fine.
I remember a friend of mine had a song for me: “Marrying Gloria Baker can’t be wrong cause it’s so right!” (“Stepping out with my baby…”) Oh boy!

There exists a yellow version of her aswell, with the same paint apps as she had in the original series.

To be fair, Pilot Scarlett was a 2008 homage to the 1984 Argentina G.I. Joe repaint of Scarlett (renamed Glenda). This coloration predates the Stiletto Gloria Baker by three years, so it probably wasn’t anything drawn from M.A.S.K.. But regardless, there is certainly a HUGE amount of synchronicity, especially since Matt Trakker showed up as a figure in the G.I. Joe 25th Anniversary line. So while Pilot Scarlett wasn’t intended as Gloria Baker, she looks so close, she might as well be; and she’d make a great addition to anyone who is trying to build a 3 3/4″ M.A.S.K. collection.
