7pm (PT) on PPV

Quinton “Rampage” Jackson vs. Lyoto Machida – Rampage is a great fighter, but lately he doesn’t seem to have the hunger anymore. Machida will revert back to his roots, and try to win this fight via points. Don’t get me wrong, if given the chance, Machida will finish Rampage off. But, Rampage’s defense is very good. So, this could be an all-nighter. Machida will move around, score points here and there, and will win via points. This will be a very skillful fight, but don’t expect a finish.

BJ Penn vs. Matt Hughes – A face-off between two UFC icons. Hughes has been on a role beating Renzo Gracie and Ricardo Almeida back-to-back. Penn lost twice to Frankie Edgar. Now, Penn moves up to 170 to face Hughes for the third time. Hughes is stronger in that weight class, but Penn’s boxing and BJJ skills are always something Hughes needs to worry about. Penn will try to box Hughes, but Hughes will always rely on his wrestling and go for the takedown. Hughes might not succeed in the first Round, but Penn will get tired towards the 2nd and 3rd. Hughes will take Penn down, and control him on the ground.

George Sotiropoulos vs. Joe Lauzon – This should be a BJJ clinic for Sotiropoulos. Lauzon needs to keep this fight standing because he will be in trouble once on the ground. Lauzon is an all-around fighter but Sotiropoulos’ ground game is just on a different level. Sotiropoulos took Stevenson down, so he won’t have a problem taking Lauzon down.
Sotiropoulos via Triangle.

Gerald Harris vs. Maiquel Jose Falcao Goncalves – Harris is an upcoming star for the UFC. Most his recent fights ended in the first round. Goncalves is a chute boxe fighter, but that means nothing nowadays. This is Gonvalves’ first fight in the UFC, and it will be a tough one. Harris will out-skill and out-muscle Goncalves, take him down and finish him with a GnP.
Harris via TKO – Rd. 1

Phil Davis vs. Tim Boetsch – Phil Davis seems to be a one-dimensional wrestler, and Boetsch is a one-dimensinal striker. Although, Boetsch wrestled in college, he’s not on the same level as Davis’ wrestling pedigree.  Boetsch needs to sprawl and brawl, but his wrestling won’t be good enough to avoid the takedowns. Davis will take him down, and control him there for the win.
Davis via UD.
