Okay folks, here comes another free UFC event from Manchester, England. It’s a decent card, and I am looking forward to it.
Randy Couture vs. Brandon Vera – An interesting fight between the legendary wrestler, and the Muay Thai fighter. Couture should win this via control against the fence and on the ground. Vera has what it takes to KO Couture, but he will not be as aggressive as he should be. He will stand around on the outside, Couture will capitalize on this and go for the clinch or the takedown. Once on the ground, Couture will be able to control Vera any way he wants.
Couture by UD.
Mike Swick vs. Dan Hardy – Swick is the gatekeeper of the UFC. Hardy is an up-and-comer who wants to break through that gate, and he will in convincing fashion. He is a solid all-around fighter with a lot of heart. In his fights in the UFC, he’s never been in trouble, he usually dominates and controls his opponents fairly easily. Swick is no joke, and is known for his choke hold called the “Swickatine.” But, this time around, Hardy will come out on top, maybe with a KO.
Hardy by KO – Rd. 2
Michael Bisping vs. Dennis Kang – Kang had a bright future coming into the UFC, but was defeated by Alan Belcher via guillotine choke. However, he won his last fight via UD. Now, he faces Bisping, who was brutally KOd by Henderson in UFC 100. This should be a barn-burner, as both fighters have a lot to prove to themselves and to their fans. Kang should be able to take Bisping down, and control him on the ground. Bisping isn’t known for his submission skills so Kang will be safe down there with him. Kang should win this via ground control.
Kang via UD.
James Wilks vs. Matt Brown – I don’t know much about Wilks, but I know that Brown is an animal. He defeated Pete Sell via strikes early in the first round. Wilks has a record of 6-2-0, and that’s all I can go by. I’d have to pick Brown to take this fight.
Brown by KO – Rd. 1
Ross Pearson vs. Aaron Riley – Pearson is a solid wrestler, with a lot of heart. He will go for a takedown against Riley, as Riley likes to bang with his opponents. Riley’s wrestling is lacking, so bottom line is that Riley needs to keep this fight standing. But, Pearson should be able to secure a takedown, and finish the fight by GnP.
Pearson by TKO – Rd. 2
