BJ Penn vs. Kenny Florian – Should be a technical match-up between the two light-weights. This is Penn’s first fight after losing to GSP at the heavier division. The light-weight is Penn’s ideal division, and I think that Kenflo is in trouble. Florian is a great ground fighter, but with overrated striking skills. Yes, his Muay Thai has improved, but he’s far from a KO artist. However, Penn has great boxing, with KOs under his belt via knees or punches. His ground game in unparalleled in the LW division. Overall, Penn is too strong and agile, even for Kenny. Penn by RNC, RD3.

Anderson Silva vs. Forrest Griffin – This should be an awesome fight, not because of Silva, but because of Griffin. Griffin always comes to fight, sometimes he wins, sometimes he loses, but he’s always entertaining to watch. Silva’s last 2 fights were snorefests, he doesn’t feel that anybody is a challenge to him anymore, which is why the UFC moved him up to the 205lb. division. I want Griffin to win this, but Silva’s striking might be too much. Griffin will probably try to brawl, get countered, and get KOd. Silva by KO, RD 3.

Amir Sadollah vs. Johny Hendricks – This fight is a gimme for Amir, he’s coming off an injury, and the UFC wants to build him into a star. With that said, I enjoy his fights, he’s very well-versed in submissions, and a decent striker. I don’t know much about Hendricks, so I’ll say that Amir wins this. Sadollah by triangle, RD 2.

Kendall Grove vs. Ricardo Almeida – I am not a big fan of both fighters, especially Grove. After winning his last fight, Grove suddenly thought that he’s the best fighter in the world. He has no jaw, as well as no class (stop doing that Tito Ortiz grave digging thing, you don’t see your opponents doing that every time you get KOd!). Almeida is a likeable guy, but his fights are always slow. Almeida should win this via whatever he wants. He outclasses Grove in every aspect of the game. All he has to do is  tap that jaw, and Grove goes to sleep! But, Almeida isn’t known for his KO power, so he’ll probably win this via ground control. Almeida by JD.

Josh Neer vs. Kurt Pellegrino – I could care less about this fight, but I have to predict it for the site. I can’t really remember who Neer is, but I know that Pellegrino is an annoying kid from ATT. I always root against ATT members because I don’t like their arrogance. Pelligrino is a well-versed fighter, almost like the jack-of-all trades but master-of-none kind of guy, and he fights like the energizer bunny. He will probably out-pace Neer, and control the fight in that fashion. Pellegrino by an unimpressive JD.

So, there you go folks, a couple of potential great fights, and the rest….not so great! With that said, the main event, and the co-main event is enough for me to get excited about this card.
