I think this might be a first in Hollywood history where a franchise gets a reboot by the same director who worked on the previous movies. It’s also probably a first that it still acknowledges the previous trilogy for a reboot. I had a hunch Bay was going to do another Transformers installment after he talked about having doubts leaving the franchise to a different director in the TF 3 Blu-ray extra (3D version). I’m sure the amount of money he gets paid for these movies is also a reason why he keeps doing them.
Transformers 3 was entertaining but it felt repetitive because of the previous 2 movies. I hope the robots in the reboot will be clunkier instead of the ninja like movements they had in the trilogy. Transformers 4 is scheduled for 2014 summer release.

Hopefully this time they will get it right. The kids name is Spike and his dad is Spark Plug and they are blue collar. Army men CAN’T defeat giant robots–Megatron will flick them if they try to use their pea shooters on him.
Watch the cartoon before trying to write a movie based on the property, REAL fans don’t want a re-imagination, they want it as close to the original as possible.
