Pixar is beginning to turn the gears on their viral marketing machine for Toy Story 3. Two Youtube videos have just surfaced with fake commercials for the Lots-o-Huggin’ Bear, one of the new characters that will be featured in the new film.
One of the reasons why I love Pixar is when they do something they look at it from every possible angle. Their attention to detail is what makes them stand out from all other animation studios and these commercials are no exception.

From the horrible VCR taped recording, to the fashion, to the jingle, these videos just scream the 80’s, so much so if your friend had been knocked unconscious and he happened to wake up to these commercials playing on the TV, you could totally convince him he had traveled back in time.
This is Pixar’s first time dabbling in viral marketing and they played it off like a pro. I can’t wait to see what else they roll out as we get closer to the release of the film. Buzz, Woody, and the gang hit theaters June 18.

Actually, this isn’t Pixar’s first time doing viral marketing. This would probably be their second time (Unless they’ve done more beyond the two times without my knowledge). Their “first time” was with the Buy ‘N’ Large campaign launched a year or two before the theatrical release of Wall-e.
