Here are my top-10 TV Intros. Most are from the 80s when I was a kid. They are either from Saturday morning cartoons, or after school action shows, these are the intros that will stick with me forever!
10) C.O.P.S – The thing that stuck most about this show was the toys, they were the bigger version of GI Joes, same articulation, but bigger in size. The figs also came with cool cap-firing accessories. The toys were the reason I became a fan of the show!
9) Full House – This was the 80s version of today’s annoying Disney shows. I watched it everyday after school. Uncle Jessie (Stamos) was always my favorite character. I saw him once while working at a theatre in Buena Park, he was with Rebbecca Romijn. Ah, that made my day!
8- Tour of Duty – I don’t remember a single episode from this show, but I can clearly remember the song in the intro.
7) He-Man – Loved the action figures, even though the articulation wasn’t as good as the GI Joes. I don’t think I saw too many of the episodes but I know the characters well because of the toys. It’s a great intro as He-Man talks to his fans, and explains the storyline.
6) The Unit – Season 1 – One of my favorite modern shows. The 20-second intro is short but sweet, straight to the point.
5) Sopranos – The intro is memorable, even though it gets a little boring. It’s pretty much Tony cruising around his hometown. The song is catchy.
4) Married With Children – Everybody and their grandmas knows this song. I was disappointed with the DVD release because they changed the song, due to copyrights issues.
3 ) The A-Team – It pumps me up every time I see this intro. The episodes had the same story, with different scenarios, it never got old!
2) Teenage Mutant “Hero” Turtles – I believe this is the English version where they weren’t allowed to use the word “ninja.” Overall, it’s the same cool intro with the word “ninja” switched to “hero.”
1) Airwolf – This is definately NOT my favorite TV show, but this intro rocks! The music is techno-ish, and even today, the music still holds very well!
