The Super Bowl is just one week away and what everybody will be talking about for weeks well have nothing to do with the game its self. In less than a month people will have forgotten who even played, but everyone will remember there favorite commercial and the halftime show.
In the pass I’ve loathed the halftime show because I believe it should be meant to inspire, and get the fans and teams riled up for the second half.
With football being a violent sport in nature it’s hard to feel the adrenaline pumping after a performance by Britney Spears.
Recently there have been significant better halftime shows with rock legends Rolling Stones, and this year The Who.
I like Prince and Aerosmith, but for just one year I wish bands the likes of Hatebreed, Godsmack, System of a Down, Korn, or Metallica would play the halftime show. Everyone would go wild, and surely someone would die that night in the stadium.
I mean what better fitting lyrics to guys trying to kill each than:
“You rise,
You fall,
You die
and You rise again!
What don’t kill ya
MAKES YA MORE STRONG!”
Metallica – Broken, Beat & Scarred.
“Give Me Your Broken,
Give Me Your Beaten,
I Will Build Them Up,
I Will Lead Them,
To The Threshold,
MAKE YOU STRONGE,
MAKE YOU BELIEVE!!!!!”
Hatebreed – To the Threshold
MAN! What an injustice. Oh well, as long as there’s big money to be made the Super Bowl Halftime show will always go to the highest bidder.
