Episode 2 of the hit series Kamen Rider: Dragon Knight aired Saturday morning at 11:30am on The CW. The episode picked up shortly after the events of the first episode. Kitt makes his “contract” with the dragon and officially becomes a kamen rider while the brooding Matt Mullins goes Emo and sneers a lot. The fight scenes are again directed with great panache by Steve Wang. Someone must be dropping acid before they came up with this thing. Kamen Riders can go through mirrors or any reflective surfaces and go from our world to the world just behind those mirrors. The episode ends with a killer fight between Kitt and an evil Kamen Rider, who proceeds to kick his ass.
Kamen Rider is progressing nicely and the 22 minute episodes are flying by. The cast is attractive and the fights are cool. It never gets TOO campy or ridiculous like Power Rangers was and the setup is at least a bit more complicated and intriguing than most kids shows. Next week it looks like we’re finally meeting the big baddie and the trailer looked like lots of film.
