From VIZ media comes the adult aimed “Black Lagoon.”

Both the story and art are done by Rei Hiroe.   As with a lot of manga the creator or artist will write and draw the book themselves.

The art itself is simply, classic manga gray-scale with an anime tone to it, (meaning it’s more cartoony than “life-like.”)

The story itself is a mish-mash of different military groups and mercs in a race to catch a trained killer who is also a maid (also classic to the Japanese fantasy culture.)

This is the jet/body of the Go-Bots Power Suit. The jet housed one figure with-in the chest compartment. The 2 containers hanging off the wings housed the fists inside. The containers themselves were the feet.
Minor transformations could be done to the jet such as adjusting the wings.

The jet could then be changed into the upper body and head. “Leader 1” could be in the chest compartment while the arms and legs–made up of white and orange Power Suits–could be attached and could carry “Scooter”, “Turbo”, “Dive-Dive” and “Spay-C.” (Love the names–GO TONKA!)

Month’s back Chuck Norris was featured as a vintage toy, so I thought I would introduce his nemesis, Super Ninja. The “Karate Kommandos” led by Chuck had to face the purple clad Super Ninja and his ninja soldiers. His foot claw was a deadly weapon along with his fancy sword (which I no longer have.) The red and black ninja soldiers each came with nunchuks and a butterfly sword. The soldiers action was a wind-up karate chop and Super Ninja turned at the waist and could kick.

After 25 years and a year and a half waiting, G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra has finally hit the screens. The film had a strong start as they introduced the characters whom brought the cartoons, comic books and action figures to life. Although there were changes and other alterations from the actual characters—some of these changes were improvements on the originals.  Others were destructive.

In 1987 the animated Movie for G.I. Joe came out to a catchy theme song in the opening credit’s. From the beginning of the movie until the end, viewers were treated to some nice art and good animation. The cast included all the names from the TV show plus Don Johnson–star of “Miami Vice” as Lt. Falcon, Duke’s Half Brother. Also in the cast and well voiced was Burgess Meredith—Mickey in Rocky, Penguin in the 60’s Batman and a great actor all in all. A lot of great things came out of 1957, the Chevy Bel air, Chevy Corvette, and Gumby. Although Gumby is far from being a car, his bendable body would allow you to form him into one.
Made of green rubber with no other features except his eyes, mouth and a nose, Gumby is embedded with wire that allows him to be posed for the stop-motion animation that made him famous.
