The Philadelphia Monster Jam (for those who don’t know what that is, it’s a Monster Truck show) was just awesome, it was my first time in the Eagles football stadium called Lincoln Financial Field and it’s huge! In 1982 Mattel offered the first Masters of the Universe play-set in the form of Castle Grayskull. Made of green molded plastic, this large home to the heroic Masters of the Universe has become an icon of 80’s culture.

Castle Grayskull has a ton of play-value which begins with the castle in the closed position, the detail for such a large piece is excellent even if it’s just brick-work in green with black shading. The April figures are in and Matty Collector has changed me from a Sy-Klone hater to a liker, some-what… Sy-Klone was a dime a dozen in the 80’s and everyone and their brother had one. It took a few months but, finally a few memorable figures have been sent as part of the subscription to Mattycollector.com’s Club Eternia.

 King Hssss is detailed extremely well, he has a fully articulated upper body including his head and arms. The original figure had a shell of the disguised form of the leader of the Snake Men. The parts of the shell snapped off and revealed a mass of yellowish snakes as the true form of King Hssss.

The February figures are in! This month offers the Club Eternia exclusive figure Preternia Disguise He-Man complete with fold out map of Etheria.

When I first heard about Preternia Disguise He-Man I was quite unimpressed. The figure shows very little detail being that He-Man is robed and has a robber mask. Seeing the figure up close still makes me feel unimpressed–He’s no Wun-Dar but, he is cool in his own way.

Miku Hatsune the aqua-haired diva is probably one of the biggest stars in Japan. Starting out like most Pop Idol’s singing on computer screens after the USER typed in the words on the Vocaloid 2 music program.

From these over the counter roots Miku became a featured music video star on YouTube. She had finally hit the big time and her agent got her gigs in retail sold CD’s, MP3’s, video games, action figures and graphic’s for race cars.

The SDCC seems to always have the best collectibles and this color changing Orko which was only available at the convention is no less than the best!

Orko was the kind of character that was hard to dislike, his funny voice played by actor/producer Lou Scheimer made us all laugh.
