Masters of the Universe Classics: April- Blade!

Masters of the Universe Classics: April- Blade!

The month of April may have started out for the fools, but the month can only end with the hack ‘n slash style of the evil master of swords: Blade! Not the vampire Blade from Marvel comics, but the very cool Blade from the Masters of the Universe Classics line! He was the only release for the Club Eternia subscription this month so without wasting any more time, let’s check out the first MOTUC release from the 1987 Masters of the Universe motion picture.

081 Masters of the Universe Classics: April Blade!

Blade comes standard on a regular MOTUC card that we have seen for many years now with …

Masters of the Universe Classics: March- Hydron and the Unnamed One!

March is nearly over but we are far from finished discussing the releases from the Masters of the Universe Classics line by Mattel. March will go down as one controversial month for the fabled MOTUC line with the release of a New Adventures character in figure form and the unveiling of the mysterious figure: the Unnamed One! Well… at least we got a cool map? Read on for the look at these two figures!

Hydron

Vintage Toy of the Month: Modulok!

Ready for an all new Vintage Toy of the Month? I know it has been awhile since our last outing into the world of all that is good and vintage, but this latest vintage toy should more than make up for that. If you’ve been following the toy chatter around here than you have probably looked over the recent article about the all new Modulok that came out from the Masters of the Universe Classics Line. Well, thanks to the kind and gracious Paladin (NERDSociety’s editor-in-chief) I was sent a really cool vintage Modulok from the Masters of the Universe toy …

Masters of the Universe Classics: Feb Part 1- Modulok

February was a special month for the Masters of the Universe Classics line. So special in fact that I had to break the figure reviews into a two part extravaganza! After all, Modulok and Glimmer are two very important releases that deserve their own articles. I also am slightly delayed with my musings on these two figures, but the articles are finally here along with some fun pictures! So let’s look at the first character from February: Modulok. Modulok. Modulok!!!

002 Masters of the Universe Classics: Feb Part 1 Modulok

Masters of the Universe Classics: Jan- Two Bad!

Masters of the Universe Classics: Jan- Two Bad!

January is the month that Masters of the Universe Classics fans wait for in utter excitement. Technically there are a few months out of the year that MOTUC fans nerd out over (SDCC I’m looking at you) but January is always the start to a new subscription year; where all the figures we’ve seen images of from the year before finally start shipping out monthly. This month was double the trouble for He-Man and his friends. Two Bad finally saw his release as a subscription only figure for the MOTUC sub. Let’s look!

056 Masters of the Universe Classics: Jan Two Bad!

For a bulky figure, Mattel certainly found a …

Masters of the Universe Classics Filmation Special: Sea Hawk!

Masters of the Universe Classics Filmation Special: Sea Hawk!

A whole New Year is upon us and before the 2014 Masters of the Universe Classics subscription kicks in, I thought it would be fun to take a look at a 2013 release: Sea Hawk! This heroic Etherian Pirate has long been on many a fan’s wish lists, and in 2013 Mattel made those wishes come true. Released as the special subscriber only figure from the Filmation mini sub, Sea Hawk somehow made it over to my well manicured hands. (Thank you eBay.) Let’s look!

Before we get into the fun details of the figure, I thought it would be important …

Masters of the Universe Classics Review: Mantenna!

Masters of the Universe Classics Review: Mantenna!

It has been awhile, hasn’t it? There have been a good number of Masters of the Universe Classics released in the last few months, but I have been unable to review them. There is a reason for that, one that I will get into soon. Before I do, I thought it would be nice to take a look at the October MOTUC release: Mantenna!

021 Masters of the Universe Classics Review: Mantenna!

I want to start with showing what was printed on the white mailer box: instructions for creating Mantenna’s eye effect. The way in which the Four Horsemen designed Mantenna was pure genius.

025 Masters of the Universe Classics Review: Mantenna!

I’ve always been a fan …

Masters of the Universe Classics Filmation Sub: Sept.- Batros!

September seems to have come and went in terms of the Masters of the Universe Classics line sold on Mattycollector.com. There was no regular figure release for the main subscription, but the mini Filmation sub was in full effect with the release of Batros: Evil Master of Theft!

Now I know this will be a short look at Batros as I am not going to be opening him, but if you read through to the very end, there may just be some exciting extra little things to check out. Let’s take a look at Batros.

0021 Masters of the Universe Classics Filmation Sub: Sept. Batros!

Masters of the Universe Classics: August- Castaspella

As the hot summer days wind down to the fall, Nerd Society is looking at the last hot Masters of the Universe Classics releases for August. First up we are going to be looking at the Enchantress who hypnotizes: Castaspella! For years fans have been asking for her, and Mattel finally fulfilled many fan’s dreams.

I have talked about Castaspella before on NS. She has appeared as a Vintage Toy of the Month awhile back, so to have the chance to look over her new release is a real treat. Also, there will be a side by side view from the …

Masters of the Universe Classics Filmation Sub: July- Icer!

July marks the first month of the special six figure mini subscription of Masters of the Universe Classics figures based off of the Filmation run of Masters of the Universe and She-Ra: Princess of Power. These figures are brought to us by Mattel and designed by the Four Horsemen. Sold via Mattycollector.com, July saw the release of Icer: Evil Master of Cold!

0081 Masters of the Universe Classics Filmation Sub: July Icer!

Icer may be from a separate subscription, but he comes packed in the same MOTUC packaging as other basic figures. The look of the figure is pretty nice in-package. There are a lot of blues and frosted whites, so …
