From Black Rock Shooter we have a pair of Japanese Figma action figures of Yomi Takanashi and her other self, Dead Master. I’ve been a fan of Black Rock Shooter since I first heard about it in the States or the “online world.” Oddly, for having somewhat of a worldwide popularity, nothing has been created in the U.S. at the time of this review. What an awesome set! Huke, the creator of Black Rock Shooter released his art book in 2012; this special set includes the 200+ page coffee table book in full color with works pertaining to Black Rock Shooter, Steins Gate and other pieces. Also included is the Black Rock Shooter “Beast” Figma action figure.

The set comes packaged in a really cool brown cardboard box that has the same markings as an electronic appliance with the typeface “BLK” featured in bold.

Straight from Japan and after about 7 months on pre-order is Black Rock Shooter: The Game-Premium White Box.

This is the definitive version of the first Black Rock Shooter video game. Playable on any PSP world wide and in the Japanese language, BRS: The Game came in a large and beautiful box with great head-shot images of Black Rock Shooter and White Rock Shooter. This set comes complete with the PSP game which once again is playable in all PSP systems, however it is entirely in Japanese so it’s feel it out as you go along–unless you know Japanese.

Waiting 5 or 6 months for a pre-order is a headache in itself, however I couldn’t be more happier!

Mato Kuroi is Black Rock Shooter. Introduced in the OVA that was included with the BRS Figma, Mato is a happy middle school kid that makes friends with Yomi who just so happens to be Dead Master the rival of Black Rock Shooter.

After 4 months of waiting for my pre-order to come to me, I FINALLY have the Black Rock Shooter, Figma, action figure! This figure is absolutely amazing, for being made in China the quality is top notch. The detail throughout the figure is that of a hand painted statue, which is what I compare this figure to. With too many points of articulation to list, Black Rock Shooter can be posed almost endlessly. From the Good Smile Company comes a Vocaloid spin-off called Black Rock Shooter. The character was created from a song produced from the Yamaha Vocaloid 2 program Hatsune Miku.

For those unfamilar with what the Vocaloid program is: it’s a computer program that sings songs from the words the user types. Hatsune Miku is an Anime themed voice–there are of course more professional sounding voices in other programs such as in Vocaloid 1.
