Renato “Babalu” Sobral def. Robbie Lawler – Unanimous Decision
This was a good back and forth fight between the striker and the grappler. Lawler landed many clean punches, but Babalu kept on pressing the fight. Babalu ended up controlling the Cage, while Lawler threw unsuccessful haymakers to try and get the KO.
Evangelista “Cyborg” Santos def. Marius Zaromskis – KO
This was a brawl as expected. Santos was more technical than Zaromskis. Santos dazed Zaromskis with punches; instead of backing away, Zaromskis rushes Santos with a flurry of combinations. Santos countered and KOd Zaromskis in the 1st Rd.
Tim Kennedy def. Trevor Prangley – RNC (rear naked choke)
Kennedy outclassed Prangley in the grappling dept. Prangley threw Kennedy to the canvas early in the fight, but Kennedy recovered and ended up taking Prangley’s back, Prangley tried to get up, Kennedy locked the RNC to finish the fight.
K.J. Noons def. Conor Heun – Split Decision
Nobody thought that Heun would stand toe-to-toe with Noons, but he did. Heun’s stand-up was decent, but his strong point is his grappling. Later in the first round, Heun got Noons in a locked full mount. As Noons tried to escape, he broke his rib. In the 2nd and 3rd Rd., Heun could not take Noons to the ground, so he was forced to box the boxer. Although, Heun lost to a decision, he has potential to be a great all-around fighter. His base is wrestling, and his jiu-jitsu is taught by Eddie Bravo. He proved tonight that he can stand with a boxer.
