STRIKEFORCE: Diaz vs. Noons II – Predictions

Showtime – Saturday, Oct. 9th, 10p PT/ET

Nick Diaz vs. KJ Noons – A rematch between the two welterweights. The first fight ended with Diaz losing due to a cut. I think that Diaz would’ve won if it wasn’t for the cut. He has more experience, a better resume, more versatile, and more well-rounded than Noons. Noons is a good boxer, but that’s about it. He hits hard, but Diaz has been hit hard before (see Gomi fight), and ended up winning the fight.
Diaz by TKO – Rd. 4

Josh Thomson vs. JZ Cavalcante – Cavalcante is a powerhouse when he fought in DREAM. But, this time around, he faces the experienced Josh Thomson. I think that Thomson is versatile enough to avoid JZ’s jiu-jitsu, and keep the fight standing. JZ’s stand-up has never really been tested, so I feel that Thomson can win this fight if he keeps it standing. Although, I don’t think that Thomson can finish JZ, he can win by points.

Sarah Kaufman vs. Marloes Coenen – Dare I say that this might be the fight of the night. It has happened before. Kaufan and Coenen are both experienced fighters. Although, Kaufman is undefeated, Coenen has more fights under her belt. Kaufman seems to be more of a dominant fighter, so I pick her to win via strikes.
Kaufman via KO – Rd. 2

Tyron Woodley vs. Andre Galvao – This fight can go either way as both up-coming fighters will have a lot to prove. Galvao is a member of Team Nogueira, which means that he is well-versed. Woodley is a submission artist, but he’ll have to rely on wrestling or striking to defeat Galvao. It won’t be an easy task. This fight can go either way, but I pick Woodley to win this as he is undefeated at 8-0, and will probably use brute strength to control Galvao.
Woodly via TKO – Rd. 2
