Street Fighter 4 No More….MORE KOF PLEASE

I can’t and have not been able to bare witness what has been done to Street Fighter 4. No matter how decent some reviewers have said it is so far. Most of us hardcore fans have been shafted. The SF series was not all about great gameplay, it was also about style and great new design. We can all remember the leaps it took, from SF to Sf Zero(Alpha) and from Zero to SF 3. The game has had some awesome and strong visual leaps in terms of art style and still breathes quite well in today’s 2D fighter arena. Sadly any old school fan can see that this is now not the case.

The cool thing is… SNK’s The New King of Fighters 12 is looking amazing with a lush, colorful and very vibrant look. The motion is really fluid as well. Ironically, now that Capcom is blowing hard at making the latest SF, it’s the 1st time, SNK’s KOF series is getting its biggest graphical overhaul. Give the video a chance and you will see the transition from its latest PS2 installment, which had a small visual upgrade (looks and plays great!), to what Street fighter 4 should be, great looking graphics.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Games are not all about graphics, but we must all understand that graphics set the tone and much needed atmosphere in a game. Graphics help the developer create a much more personal and deep sense of emotion and feel with its player.

The gameplay itself looks interesting and very fluid. After viewing some play videos, it appears that the player can only play 2 players at once, maybe like Marvel VS Capcom. And other features I don’t want to dive into for spoiler reasons. I would like this to be more of a surprise. I wanted to give you readers a heads up on KOF because I know it will be overshadowed by SF4. It is rumored to come out for the Xbox 360 but I’m sure it will be on both the PS3 and 360. I am sure the Wii can handle this as well, so keep your peepers peeled.

A Little History Lesson
SNK’s KOF series had always been one of Capcom’s biggest competitors for fighting games. Honestly, its deep fighting system can rival Capcoms SF(fighting game enthusiast agree). It is easily said that SNK is the underdog of fighting game genre. You may have come across some of their other series at one point in your life or another, from Metal Slug, to Samurai Spirits(Samurai Showdown).
