On Wednesday, April 25th, Dark Horse Comics will be releasing the first installment of their 4 part series covering the death of one of Star Wars’ most iconic characters: the bounty hunter known as Boba Fett. This will be the sequel to the Star Wars: Blood Ties mini-series which explored the relationship between Boba and his “father” Jango. Writer Tom Taylor collaborated with artist Christ Scalf. The variant cover (shown above) was created by David Palumbo.
Here is a synopsis from the Dark Horse Comics website: The news spreads from one end of the galaxy to the other like wildfire: Boba Fett, the galaxy’s most feared bounty hunter, is dead. But when members of the team that killed Fett are themselves picked off one by one, Connor Freeman–the son of one of Jango Fett’s clones–gets pulled into the action in a most unexpected way!
From what I’m gathering, this series should be pretty intense. Collectors are already lining up with pre-orders so you can fully expect these to fly off the shelves. Here are images from the series and a time-lapse video of the making of the cover for part 3 by artist Chris Scalf.
