The Spider-Man musical seemed like a bad idea from the get go. First of all, kids love Spider-Man. Broadway audiences don’t really care for the web slinger, they’d rather watch Wicked. The target demographics just seemed off. Then sites got a hold of the costume pics and majority made fun of it. But as they say in Broadway, the show must go on. Yesterday, they had a preview and seven minutes before the show ended, the actor playing Spider-Man fell several feet and got injured. Medic had to be brought in and the show was immediately stopped.
According to Collider, One of the audience members said that the scene involved Mary Jane being saved by Spider-Man. Spider-Man jumped to save her but the rope harness he was attached to malfunctioned.
The actor was taken to a hospital, no official word on his current status.
Spider-Man: Turn Off The Lights officially opens Jan. 11th, 2011.

This show seems like a total debacle. The media is wondering if the whole thing is cursed and now so do I. Julie Taymor did cast Russell Brand in The Tempest so her sanity is now in question.
