Robin Hood is the fifth collaboration between Russell Crowe and my favorite director, Ridley Scott. I really don’t know what to make of this movie. The cinematography looks good but the action scenes looks too similar to Gladiator and Kingdom of Heaven. I’m not going to lie though, I’m still going to watch it the first day it comes out. I’m a slave to Ridley.

Have you seen the directors cut of Kingdom of Heaven? Much better imo. It almost makes up for the fact that Orlando Bloom should not have been the lead.

DC of KOH should have been the version released at theatres to begin with. It’s an epic movie although they could have gotten a better lead.

Looks like he has the exact same hair style he did in Gladiator. Maybe Maximus was a time traveler? 🙂

Sadly, the trailer doesn’t look great to me. If you are going to do Robin Hood I’d rather have a fresh telling with a youthful and lively cast and not Gladiator, who looks tired and old in the trailer.
I also don’t get this obsession with dark “no fun” war movies mucking up any sort of escapism or fantasy……..see Troy for a great example of that.
