Adrianne Curry, best known for winning America’s Next Top Model, got kicked out from Comic-Con for showing too much skin. She was wearing an Aeon Flux costume which revealed her rear end. The cops decided it was too much for the event and told her to tie a shirt around her waist as she was signing autographs for fans. After the signing they booted her out and she changed to costume which showed less skin.
Seeing a lot of revealing cosplayers, I don’t think her costume is too revealing. So maybe the secret rule is that cleavage is okay but not booty? I have to support Curry in this one, I met her once and she was really cool and knew her nerd facts. So she’s not a poser unlike some models that goes to these conventions.
Below are more pics of Curry:

Just because a costume exists doesn’t mean people have to wear it. Seeing as this is a family-friendly event I have to agree with the decision to request that she cover up.

Nice selection of costumes, I give her credit for freely showing her body. It seems that California has really become conservative, maybe the freedom of the 60’s needs to return to the state. I’d be more concerned that she won a contest for fame rather than complain about her cheeks showing as Aeon Flux.

normally i would say she has the right to do this, but im gonna have to stand with Miko on this one, Comicon is a family friendly event, and having full grown women having next to nothing on(and face it Aeon Flux typically wear BDSM/next to nothing), and having children around is just not good.

I also have to disagree with the writer of the article. Regarding the nature of the event, people should be considerate in what they’re wearing. Otherwise people might show up as Aphrodite in God of War 3, or Leela from the episode In a gadda da Leela, where she wears nothing but a bit of foliage..

I am more concerned as to why she was invited in the first place. Having a creepy reality series where you are fondling Peter Brady does not make you a celebrity. This country is so backwards thinking when it comes to sexual images yet violence and violent tv series air every day of the week on network TV and no one blinks an eye. Some of the same parents who complain watch Criminal Minds every week. One of the most vile, violent shows ever created.
I think right-wingers and their fake family values are ruining this country. Sigh*

How come you have to throw political views into this? This has nothing to do with Left or Right politics, this has to do with either Comicon acted inappropriately or not to this one walking around a family event as a character who’s costume is based on leather fetish, and the series is one big sexual enduendo.
I love Aeon Flux, i have the series, the movies, etc… but my wife nannies some kids all under 11 years old, and sometimes i take them out to do things to get them out of the house. If i was at some event like comicon, and I saw a full grown woman walking around like Aeon Flux, i would be upset.

Whether you agreed with me or not, all of you guys have valid points.
There’s no question that the costume is sexy and showing little bit of skin.
My issue is with Comic Con’s/police costume policy. If they allow a Sexy Pikachu, Slave Leias and other costumes with a lot of cleavage, why stop an Aeon Flux costume? Maybe they think showing booty (I don’t know how much was showing. If it was just a floss, then I can see why it’d be banned cus it’s not allowed on most beaches over here. ) is more offensive than cleavage. All I want is consistency from them.
These events are supposed to be kid friendly, but over the past 5 years or so, the costumes have been totally crazy and plenty of folks are in it just for the sex appeal.

On the Aeon Flux costume the rear part is non existent, she was basically walking around in a leather g-string.
At first glance it does appear they were being unfair to her, but knowing how Aeon Flux is dressed, the law alone wouldnt even let her walk out her house door. if she just had modified the costume just a bit to cover a bit more, there wouldnt have been an issue.

If that’s the case, then Comic Con had the right to boot her out.
Other than that, everything should be fair game.

If you guys think there’s anything “kid friendly” about comic cons these days I have swamp land in Florida to sell you. It’s all about the money.

To be honest, its upto you what you wear, and its not like you can actually see everything. also it maybe a family friendly place but if there are no rules saying nothing revealing then go for it. its upto the parents to know that there is a risk of seeing half naked ladies there.
