ratatouille Film Review: Ratatouille

Eh. It’s only a three starrer. Just like The Incredibles, there was something missing in the movie as a whole. The plot was mediocre– rat breaks away from family, loser is a loser until he meets rat and becomes a winner, relationship between the both reaches a ditch, ditch is overcome, everyone is happy. But I think that’s the thing here. It was only centered around those specific two characters. Not that there’s anything wrong with that considering hey, that’s the plot, but the plot could be spruced up a bit. For crying out loud, it takes place in a kitchen in a restaurant and there is more than one chef in the kitchen. They could have given each chef a distinct personality. I believe that is what the movie itself was lacking– character variation. And character variation = less wit. Less wit = not so great movie, considering you expect a lot from Disney and Pixar.

I will, however, give them props for its subtle twisted moments. I don’t think a lot of people would pick up the skull-like typewriter that Anton Ego was typing on. The movie also had great GREAAAAAATTTT music. OMG. need soundtrack. Now.
