One of the easiest figures to acquire in the new line of G.I. Joe action figures is Zartan. A totally classic and popular figure, Zartan comes with an amazing amount of accessories.
The standard build of Zartan includes a removable “poncho” which reveals his hairless head. With the ever classic face paint. Zartan has an interchangeable head which comes with goggles. Zartan’s “poncho” can them be changed out for a vest which allows him to become a totally different character, not just him with a different face.
Included with Zartan are a shoulder bag to hold the alternate head (which is kind of sick as it appears that he is carrying a decapitated skull with him) there is also space for his pistol and falcons hood. The falcon included is detailed down to (as just mentioned) having a feathered hood and the paint scheme is great! What’s a more violent and brutal weapon than a falcon? Lets see Shipwreck’s buddy Polly stand up to this nasty bird!
The falcon has a staff to sit upon and Zartan also has a great automatic rifle with scope and 2 ammo clips attached together so it can be reloaded quickly. The clips are static though, they can not be removed.
A great new detail is upon Zartan’s upper body which are circular marks; I’m guessing that these marks are either part of his DNA which allows him to change his appearance or technological which perform the same task. Either way, it’s a great detail.
Finishing off Zartan is a stand with 2 foot pegs for stability.
The package is great with a detailed bubble that won’t crush very easily, a full colored card with great character art and on the back are an ID/Bio card, a story and also the new story of G.I. Joe VS Cobra.
Compared to classic Zartan, the current figure far outweighs the original in detail, however, classic Zartan is simply–classic and will always be a favorite.
