As reported in Nerdsociety back in August, Rooney Mara had beat out a slew of big name actresses for the role of Lisbeth Salander in David Fincher’s (Fight Club, Social Network) American adaptation of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. Mara’s fresh look had many wondering if she would be able to pull it off. According to ABC News, she has reportedly gone as far as piercing her nipples for this role. The February 2011 issue of W Magazine has an article about the film, giving us a first glimpse of the actress as the butt-kicking heroine. Maybe it’s just the poses but she still looks like a model to me.

After watching the series over the weekend, it was not surprising to see a hollywood remake in the works. Although it is fantastic that Fincher is at the helms, and undoubtedly it will be a good film, the casting of Mara as Lizbeth is certainly a risky one.
Those stills could be some gothic Westwood homage shoot. Mara does not look like the character Lisbeth should be, even more so with a such a fitting performance/appearance by Noomi Rapace.
I just hope at least they can CGI some muscle mass onto Mara’s waif-like frame, as portraying the brutalized survivor Lizbeth she is so far from the physical mark. Hell even I feel I could beat her in a stand up fight despite being a jabba the hut lookalike. In white i might add, no fungus here.
We shall wait and see.

Its very well written; I love what youve got to
say. But maybe you could a little more in the way of content so people could connect with it better.
Youve got an awful lot of text for only having one or two pictures.
