After 3 years in the market, the PS3 has finally beaten out Nintendo Wii and Xbox 360 in sales for the month of September, thanks to the $100 price cut. Let’s see if Uncharted 2 can help boost sales for Sony for next month and the upcoming holiday season.
Here are the numbers for September 2009:
- Nintendo DS – 524,200 units sold
- PlayStation 3 – 491,800
- Wii – 462,800
- Xbox 360 – 352,600
- PlayStation Portable – 190,400
- PlayStation 2 – 146,000
Oh, but it’s not over yet. The number 1 selling game of September was Halo 3: ODST for the Xbox 360. What a shocker! And it looks like the exclusive Joker content for Batman: Arkham Asylum has finally helped the PS3 since it outsold the Xbox 360 version.
