November is just around the corner but its a light month for noteworthy DVDs.  A bit on the slow side, as the big releases hit in December for Christmas.  Here’s my list of November releases that are worth picking up, week by week:

November 4th

Batman: The Complete Animated Series- The animated series that helped redefine Batman forever.  This set is lovingly packaged and featuers all 4 seasons of Paul Dini and Bruce Timm’s groundbreaking series.  A must for the Batman fans and a great Christmas present for any fanboy.  This is the DVD pick of the month, and a great primer for The Dark Knight.

Reaper: Season One-  Reaper is the hilarious tale of a slacker whose parents sell his soul to the devil.  He becomes a bounty hunter for the devil and sends escaped souls back to Hell.  Ray Wise owns as the devil and the show got better and better throughout its freshman year.  It returns to The CW at mid-season, so this set is a must-have for fans and for newbies, so they can catch up.

November 11th

Mister Foe-  This looked like a creepy and interesting little indie film that came and went quickly in theatres about a disturbed young man (Billy Elliot, all grown up) and his weird obsession with his mother……ah, fun times indeed.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars- I didn’t see this in theatres but it looks like a film Star Wars fans will at least rent……maybe.

November 18th

Heathers: Limited Editon Locker Set- Great packaging…..but hardly worth the cash, stick with your 10 dollar disc.

Wall-E-  Pixar’s CG-animated smash hits DVD.

November 25th

Bottle Rocket: Criterion Edition- My favorite Wes Anderson film gets the Criterion treatment, I can’t wait.

Hancock- Reviews were extremely mixed for Will Smith’s offbeat superhero flick, but I’m going to give it a shot when it hits DVD.
