Never underestimate the bravery and sheer stupidity of nerds. In Kaneohe, HI, two masked thugs tried to rob a gaming cafe. The thugs punched the worker and it looked like a scene from Drillbit Taylor as the assailants couldn’t really hurt the victim. Then the punks told everyone to empty their pockets and cough up their hard earned cash. In the video, it looked like two guys handed their money. I’d give them my money too if they had weapons but these masked men didn’t even have anything. The robbers then made a lethal mistake by taking away a nintendo DS from a nerd, Dylan Hays, as he went into Hulk rage:
“Then he hit me and I kind of just got angry and I bull-rushed him out there door. I pulled him down the ground over here, the table got moved and I had him down on the ground he was still hitting me.”
The gamers at the cafe saw the revolt and started fighting back and took off one of the masks from the robbers. One of the assailants ran out of the cafe while the other one got pounded and had to be dragged out by his friends. The cops came and arrested three people after the victims noticed that the unmasked robber looked familiar. It turned out he was a gamer as well and played at the cafe before, no wonder he couldn’t knock anybody out…Just kidding, that employee actually had a good chin that would make Homer proud.
Hays final thoughts:
“I mean we’re gamers, we’ve been immersed in that culture where like we all want to Superman, you know we’re missing something partial in our brain that says yeah this might be dangerous”
Just don’t jump off the building thinking you can fly Mr. Hays and you’ll live a long happy life with your DS!
