On March 16, Natasha Richardson (45) was taking a beginner’s skiing lesson and fell down the slopes. There were no signs of injuries, but hours later she complained of a headache and was taken to the hospital. She was in critical condition and died days later.
Natasha now leaves behind her husband, Liam Neeson, and her sons. This is a really tragic loss and my prayer goes out to the family and friends.
The first time I saw Natasha was in Lindsay Lohan’s The Parent Trap, playing opposite of Dennis Quaid. It was a cute little remake.
As for the cause of her death, I know there will be debates about whether or not a helmet could have prevented her death, but I’ve been thinking about how fragile our lives are. I mean come on…bunny slope…beginner’s private lesson…and she was feeling fine for awhile.
Take this story for example. A female snowboarder falls on her butt and dies of a fatal stroke. The accident also happens on March 16th, weird. I’ve been thinking about how lucky I am because I’ve been falling on my ass so many times from skateboarding, snowboarding, and backyard wrestling (Hey, I was a kid back then).
As for Mr. Liam Neeson, it’s so eerie now because from what I remember, Liam played a widower in Love Actually, and in Batman Begins, his character lost a great love.
All I can say now is that I wish the family well and will try to live life to the fullest, because you can be fine one day and gone the next.

That sucks. It makes me wonder if it’s worth snowboarding.
I learned this while taking martial arts: Always protect your head first, worry about everything else later. So if you’re about to fall, tuck your head in towards your chest so your back takes most of the impact and your head doesn’t bounce.

This is a real tragedy. I’d like to wish Liam Neeson and all of Natasha’s family and friends the best.

This was really surprising, when i heard about it, i couldn’t remember who she was because i was thinking of older actresses!
I wish the best to those involved, its always sad to lose such good and respectable talent.
