MOTUC 2015 And 200X Special Subscription: November; Dragstor And Veena!

We are finally winding down to the end of the MOTU Classics line. With next year offering just Filmation style figures and figures no one wants.  That is correct, they are not collector’s choice, they are Mattel’s choice.

Anyhow, there will be no 200X Sorceress anytime soon, no one demanded it—the message boards say different, but who cares what the fans REALLY want. All I can say is, I am happy that MOTUC is coming to an end—first you couldn’t get any of the figures, then there were too many of them. Goodbye Crappy Collector, and sleep tight!

The awesome figure for November is Dragstor! My brother had him…he was so damn cool that…well; let me tell you why…after this!

The figure comes packaged in a…oh, wait, you know this part.

Drag 2 MOTUC 2015 And 200X Special Subscription: November; Dragstor And Veena!

The back of the box has a reasonable bio; it works mostly, a lot of mini comic story.

So…top, down. Dragstor’s head resembles this photo; it was a 1920’s/30’s style racing helmet and breather, the breather kept the dust away due to the race cars of the time being just like a soapbox derby racer, with the whole top usually wide open. This is actually VERY creative on the part of the original designer for Dragstor from the late 80’s; so that is interesting.

To continue on why Dragstor was so cool; he had a wheel on his stomach that would spin with the use of a ripcord. He could then fly across the floor and scare your dogs. He was built solid and was almost 2 toys in one.
Now…well, the wheel is fake and just a part of his armor, it is made of rubber where the original was plastic–so the detail is there more or less, but it just isn’t the same.

Drag 4 MOTUC 2015 And 200X Special Subscription: November; Dragstor And Veena!

Dragstor has a really detailed version of an engine on his back unlike the original figure, so that is a real winner in design. Adding to it is the shape of his Horde Crossbow being exhaust pipes. Also included is a whip…the whip is supposed to be his ripcord, kind of like Blast Attak, he has the part, but it doesn’t do anything.  The top of the engine has a hole where either the crossbow or whip can be placed as a holder…or…

…he can have a larger engine, more speed baby!!!

All in all, Dragstor is cool, just like I remembered him, so good job on this one, he is a winner!

GRADE: A+ (Just too cool of a figure).

From the 200X line of figures…the month of…heh, heh…October…is Ceratus.  (I have an excuse.  I started a new job and was working very long labor-filed hours, so I was too tired to review a figure I am not all that interested in).  So, here is the “review” now before I get to the main attraction.

Ceratus 1 MOTUC 2015 And 200X Special Subscription: November; Dragstor And Veena!

He is packaged as usual.

Ceratus 2 MOTUC 2015 And 200X Special Subscription: November; Dragstor And Veena!

His bio sucks.

Ceratus 3 MOTUC 2015 And 200X Special Subscription: November; Dragstor And Veena!

He looks like Whiplash with real metal hoop earrings.

Ceratus 4 MOTUC 2015 And 200X Special Subscription: November; Dragstor And Veena!

The detail is really cool; you can put the 200X head that came with Whiplash on this body to make him that version of the figure.

Nothing special…even his bone, pick axe is just normal.

Disappointment.

GRADE: C (……..).

HOLY CRAP!!! They made a figure everyone….EVERYONE wanted!!!

Veena 1 MOTUC 2015 And 200X Special Subscription: November; Dragstor And Veena!

This is Veena, the Queen of Castle Grayskull!!!

If anyone knows the story that was created in the 200X series, there was a King Grayskull (Mine belongs to someone else now) and he was married to Veena, the original Sorceress…yeah…the story is now so complicated that it makes no sense! But, who cares, this is the one I wanted 2nd to 200X Sorceress.

Veena 2 MOTUC 2015 And 200X Special Subscription: November; Dragstor And Veena!

For day of sale, Veena was only available for subscription holders, but, if you wait a bit, she will be retail at some point. So, that means I could only get one…which, I’m not opening.

But, before you go and say reading this article was a waste of time, listen to this! Veena comes with finally perfected wings on a single hinge joint, so unlike The Sorceress having her wings in big rivets on her shoulders and Angela having the double hinge wings of Hawk Girl; Veena’s wings are actually perfect and pop into her back.

Veena also comes with her shawl, which looked so cool in the cartoon with the Anime-style art. Finally, she has a staff.

Veena is a beautiful figure, one that will sit at the top of my collection proudly.

Oh…right, her bio is shit, but she will be hung on the wall in a clam shell, so I never have to see it.

Veena 3 MOTUC 2015 And 200X Special Subscription: November; Dragstor And Veena!

Veena…The number 1 figure in my entire MOTUC collection, even over Teela and Bubble Power She-Ra, Entrapta and Two Bad…

GRADE: PERFECT!

Late this month will be a very special review of…get ready for it…The Talon Fighter and Point Dread!!! I could not turn down my favorite vehicle from when I was a kid, so I paid the insane amount of money for it so I could have it. It also comes with a Teela figure? Interesting…
