MMAjunkie reports that Lyoto Machida and Quentin “Rampage” Jackson has verbally agreed to fight on the Nov. 20th card. This is a good match-up as both fighters are coming off significant losses. Machida was knocked off as the LHW champion by Brazilian counterpart, Maurcio “Shogun” Rua. While Rampage’s loss to Evans wasn’t as devastating, Rampage lost the opportunity to once again fight for the belt.
There were talks that Rampage was avoiding Machida because he is “boring.” Deep inside, I think Rampage knows that Machida is a hard match-up for him. Although, Rampage might be the underdog in this fight, he has the skillset to defeat Machida. He has good boxing, and his takedown defense is top-notch, a key in avoiding Machida’s judo-trips. Somehow, I feel that a focused Rampage can take this fight. Either way, this should be a good fight!
