Last week, I attended the Chiller EyeGore Awards held at Universal Studios Hollywood. The show aims at honoring excellence and achievement in the horror genre. Legendary make up artist, Rick Baker (Planet Of The Apes, Hellboy) got the “Jack Pierce – Lifetime Achievement” for his awesome work in the movie industry. I had a chance to talk to him and he’s a very easy going guy. Too bad I forgot to ask him why he didn’t work on Hellboy 2, I was too excited talking to a legend.
Rob Zombie (Devil’s Rejects, Halloween remake) and Tobin Bell (Saw franchise) also got awards for their work in the Horror industry. Rob Zombie is a character. He just waited in the lobby for most of the show before accepting his award. He kept to himself but when fans approached him, he talked and took pictures with them. Tobin Bell had a really calm and low energy, similar to his Jigsaw role, but only more approachable. People were swarming him the whole night. Corey Feldman hosted the event and had a good time with his intentional cheesy one-liners. His delivery was funny because the jokes were so obvious.

Other highlights for me include meeting VH1’s Scream Queen, Tanedra Howard (SAW 6). She was fun to talk to because she was a BIG flirt. She was way taller than me so when we took the picture, she had to slouch and she was still taller! Tanedra, thanks for being such a sweetheart! Boondock Saints is one of my favorite cult movies so I was stoked when I met the villain from the sequel, Daniel DeSanto (Mean Girls) . We talked about his role and working with the controversial and creative director, Troy Duffy. Make sure to check back because I’ll be putting up the video interviews soon!
That’s an awesome statue!
