Inifinity Ward’s community manager, Robert Bowling, has shared new details in a recent interview with Xbox Live programming manager Major Nelson about the new map pack. Dubbed as the “Resurgence Pack”, it will be almost identical to the Stimulus Pack, with 3 brand new maps and 2 maps updated from COD4 and sell for 1200 MS points ($15). The two returning maps will be the urban environment Strike and the open Russian complex Vacant. Bowling also goes on to detail the 3 new maps:
Carnival: A normal sized map set inside of a “desolated amusement park,” says Bowling, with unique locations including a rollercoaster and fun house.
Trailer Park: A smaller map featuring abandoned trailers and tight corridors. Bowling describes the map as a maze with various chokepoints.
Fuel: A “sniper haven,” Bowling says, as the map is based in an oil refinery and is one of the game’s larger environments.
The first DLC for Modern Warfare 2 has been a huge success for Infinity Ward and publisher Activision. The number of downloads topped 2.5 million in its first week. The Resurgence Pack debuts on Xbox Live on June 3. And just like last time, PS3 and PC users will have to wait. I’m not too sure how I feel about paying $30 total for 2 map packs with technically only 6 new maps and 4 COD4 updated maps. That’s practically half the price of the game. We’ll see if they can top the 2 1/2 million mark left from the first map pack.

Why must they curse us PS3 and PC users!

Call Of Duty 4 has some of those maps, plus many more, and costs about $20 new and plays pretty much exactly like MW2. So $30 for 2 map packs seem kinda like a ripoff to me.

Yea, that’s half the price of a full game. But then again, i play this game everyday!
