Just to warn you, this will have spoilers so stop reading now if you want to figure out on your own which G.I. Joe character died in the comics. And no, it’s not Baroness as seen in the photo. It’s someone else that plays a pivotal role in the battle between the Joes and Cobra.
One of the covers for G.I. Joe #1, which leads to Cobra Civil War
In G.I. Joe: Cobra #12, Chuckles is shown shooting Cobra Commander in the head. IDW, the publisher behind the comic said that it’s a real death, unlike Superman or Captain America coming back. The death of Cobra Commander will lead to a civil war between the Cobra group. I haven’t really been following G.I. Joe comics but the consensus from the readers is that “Cobra” is one of the most consistent and enjoyable read in the current market. The fans are buying into the story that Cobra Commander is really dead and looking forward to the civil war.
Maybe Cobra Commander will be replaced by another person in the future…who knows but now I’m really interested in reading this comic.

Ah, IDW, the comic book company that wrote in Optimus Prime quitting because the Autobots will never win. Everyone knows Prime doesn’t care about sentient beings of course he’ll quit like a pussy–yeah right… Now they killed off Cobra Commander–apparently Larry Hama who just as well created G.I. Joe was supposed to be the current writer. Why would he kill Cobra Commander?
Positive: Serpentor is the leader of Cobra
Negative: Crimson Guard Fred is now Cobra Commander, or is it Overlord or is it Storm Shadow??? Come on, shit something out IDW–keep shitting…
