Long Beach City College Gymnasium was packed again for Long Beach Fight Night 5. Including in the attendance were Renato “Babalu” Sobral, Fabricio Wedrum and Affliction President, Tom Atencio. There were a total of ten fights and some ended in brutal knockouts.
Below are the results:
Jacob Fishel vs. Nich Reale
The first fight was a back and forth battle. It was a pretty even match but Fishel scored more points on takedowns and ground control. The fight went to the judge where Fishel got the split decision.
Alex Suhanosov vs. Bruno Paulista
The first 2 rounds didn’t have much action as both fighters were cautious on their feet. In the third round, Paulista scored a takedown. Paulista dominated the ground and scored a rear naked choke.
Danny Juarez vs. Gerry Noche
Juarez was too strong for Noche. Noche tried a couple of times to take Juarez down but he stuffed most of it. Noche was on his back for the most of the fight and Juarez got the unanimous decision.

Chris Culley vs. Sgt. Vince Ortiz
This was a close fight as Culley was winning the standup but he didn’t have any defense for Ortiz’s takedowns. Ortiz couldn’t really mount an offense on the ground but did enough to win a split decision.
Sergio Salcido vs. Russ Miura
This was a quick match as Miura controlled the ground and got Salcido in a slick triangle choke.
Lews Jasblonski vs. Illiams Goglia
Goglia threw bombs from the opening bell and landed a couple of hard shots. Jablonski went down and Goglia capitalized by getting an armbar. Afterwards, Goglia got emotional since he just recovered from cancer and it was his first fight back.
Evan De Long vs. Jason Meaders
In the first two rounds, Meaders was controlling the ground but didn’t do much damage. In the third, De Long’s corner told him to take a risk and he went for an aggressive takedown. Meader’s threw a knee that knocked out De Long.
