It was another packed event at the Long Beach City College Gym for the fourth Long Beach Fight Night. Thomas Kenney headlined the event for the second time, and didn’t disappoint. The crowd was entertained, as most of the fights didn’t go to the distance.

Anthony Appello vs. Many ‘Bam Bam’ Lara
Lara dominated from this fight from the start. As the bell rang, Lara took Appello down and started grounding and pounding. Appello tried to get out, but couldn’t mount any offense on the ground and tapped due to strikes.
Winner: Many ‘Bam Bam’ Lara
Darby “The Edge” Faulkner vs Scott “The Sza” Brommage
Brommage’s striking was too much for Faulkner. Brommage peppered Faulkner with jabs and leg kicks in the first round. In the second round, Brommage threw heavy punches and knocked down Faulkner. Brommage continued the barrage of punches until the referee stepped in.
Winner: Scott “The Sza” Brommage
Juan Rivas vs. Andrew “Mon chi Chi” Patlan
This was a ground war with plenty of reversals and submission attempts. Juan Rivas looked a bit stronger and took the initiative with the takedowns. Patlan countered and went for a couple of takedowns himself. This went on for three rounds, and Rivas got the decision. Very close fight.
Winner: Juan Rivas
Fabian “Wolverine” Diaz vs. Sgt. Vince Ortiz – USMC
Both men came out aggressive and Fabian accidentally kneed Ortiz in the groin. Once the fight restarted, Ortiz took Diaz down and sank a rear naked choke.
Winner: Sgt. Vince Ortiz
Lamar “Monster” Jiles vs Keneti “Monsta” Faagata
Jiles went for an early takedown and put Faagata on the mat. Jiles got a full mount and threw heavy punches and elbows. With a couple of seconds left in the first round, the ref stopped the fight due to strikes.
Winner: Lamar “Monster” Jiles
Fernando Bettega vs. John “VooDoo” Walsh
Walsh got the takedown as both fighters were throwing strikes. Bettega swept Walsh from the top position and got into a full mount. Bettega finished off Walsh with a guillotine.
Winner: Fernando Bettega
Darrell “The Mongoose” Montague vs. Maurice “Syko” Eazel
This was no doubt the fight of the night. Eazel went for hard slams early in the fight, only to be slammed by Montague a couple of time later on. Both men were also trading punches with Montague cotrolling the stand up war. Montague hit Eazel with a couple of flying knees. Eazel was wobbly going into the second round. Montague finished off Eazel with another flying knee in the third round.
Winner: Darrell “The Mongoose” Montague
Scott Rose vs. Tarec Saffiedine
This was a really short fight. Saffiedine scored a takedown and got Rose in an arm triangle.
Winner: Tarec Sacffiedine
Eric Meaders vs. Thomas Kenney
Kenney went for a takedown right away. Meaders stuffed it a couple of times before finally getting taken down. Kenney tried several close submission attempts but Meaders wormed his way out. In the stand up, Kenney’s boxing was put to good use and tagged Meaders a couple of times. Meaders wouldn’t give up and the fight went to the judges. Kenney got the decision.
Winner: Thomas Kenney
Once again, Long Beach Fight Night, delivered with great production value and entertaining fights.
