So how excited are you about seeing the next to last installment of the vampire/werewolf teen drama from the Twilight series? Like Harry Potter ‘s finale, they decided to split this one up into two films, both of which have wrapped filming already. Breaking Dawn will be the first one to open to undoubtedly feverish audiences. I say feverish because the average fan is either 12 years old or a divorcee in her 30’s.
As Bella blooms into full vampire swanhood (Alice said so and she’s psychic), fans can expect to see Edward and Bella take their relationship to a whole new level in many different ways. Besides, as it turns out, Edward decides that it’s better to wait until Bella’s a vamp before they get physical – for her safety, you understand. In a recent interview the stars discussed their favorite scenes and typically, Stewart’s was the wedding scene and Pattinson’s was the honeymoon scene where he breaks the bed when they’re getting busy. This is nothing, according to Rob, compared to their reunion sex. Director Bill Condon had this to say about the more controversial material:
“We shot everything — whether it’s the lovemaking or the childbirth — as potent and powerful as it can be. It will be interesting to see whether there will be people who think it too disturbing for this universe.”
But don’t count out Jacob just yet; the sneaky dog will try to woo Bella with a romantic ride or two on his dirt bike. (Although if we’re to compare a doctor’s son who lives in a bad-assed mansion in the woods with a guy who wears nothing but daisy dukes, lives in a log cabin with like 8 other people and eats huge muffins for dinner – is anyone really expecting Bella to choose Jacob at the last minute in this day and age?)
I haven’t personally read the books but just going by what’s happened already, it would seem that the prior angst of having to deal with any real competition from Jacob or impending revenge plots from Victoria are moot: the marriage should go off without a hitch. So what sort of excitement can we expect? Maybe from the Volturi and the pain weilding Jane – but Bella is uniquely immune. There will, however, be some new vamps on the scene: a peaceful and equally picturesque “family” of vampires called Denali.
But if we’re talking about these two starting a family, I just can’t see any real strife other than the obvious when it comes to a human/vampire romance: to bite or not to bite. Although many photos were leaked earlier this year which prompted legal action, they have now released “official” Breaking Dawn images. The film opens November 18.
