Remember when everyone was planking all over everything? Or Tebowing? Kotaku reports of a new craze coming out of Japan by Japanese schoolgirls: it’s the Kamehameha. While Dragonball Z hasn’t quite caught on in America as much, it has taken over Japan, and apparently photos of Japanese schoolgirls are popping up all over their message boards of girls doing stuff like this:
The Kamehameha is an attack usually performed by the character Goku but sometimes Gohon can be seen doing it also. He puts his arms back together toward one hip and looks as though he’s trying to get out his wallet, but really he’s preparing a ball of energy that when it’s ready, he brings around and shoots it out of his hands. It looks a little something like this:
Unlike planking and Tebowing, which are rather singular activities, the Kamehameha attack is a group thing and a lot more fun when you can get together with your friends. All you need is a camera and a bunch of people who can jump.
The following pics show how many have toyed with the idea over the years.
The latest is definitely taking the Kamehameha to a whole new level. But let’s face it, we all know cosplayers have been doing this stuff for years.
