The third annual Los Angeles Animation Festival, which runs from March 7 – 11, 2012, has announced some of the films to be shown at the event. While no actual times have been posted yet, Katsuhira Otomo’s Akira (1988) will be shown on the big screen, along with Shrek, The Iron Giant, and A Monster in Paris. More films and showtimes will be announced soon.
The festival is being sponsored by MTV’s Liquid Television. Special guests include Sean Lennon, Vin Diesel and Jennifer Aniston. There are also contests for best AMV, best animated short and best animated feature. The deadline for entires is February 14. Go to the LAAF website for more information.
