I suppose you thought Kitty Pryde was just some teenaged mutant from the X-Men comics. Think again… This Shadowcat’s a 19-year-old rapper from Daytona Beach. She’s been getting all sorts of attention from the likes of The New York Times and overseas rags like the Guardian (believe it or not). Her music is pretty basic: just her voice over beats, sort of a cross between Rebecca Black and Kesha. This video is particularly homegrown, although I’m liking her friend in the background wearing the Boba Fett mask.
She’s got another song called “Justin Beiber” where she says she’s 13 and talks about high school sophomores who ride skateboards, having to ditch them in the mosh pit and “running over Selena.” I have a feeling Marvel might have something to say about this if she blows up like Rebecca Black did… I can’t say I’m particularly fond of her music but, hey, at least she’s not autotuned…
