Kimbo gets KOd by some guy named Seth Petruzelli. The hype has been exposed. I was disappointed that Ken Shamrock was not able to fight tonight, due to a cut above the eye while training. So, comes Petruzelli to save the night. Honestly, I thought that Kimbo would run through Petruzelli in no time. Kimbo came in for the kill while Petruzelli backed peddled to avoid the Kimbo attacks. But, Kimbo ran into Petruzelli’s right hand that stunned Kimbo. Kimbo dropped onto his knees and took unanswered punches to the side of the head. After maybe 5 or 6 punches, Kimbo finally fell on his back, while Petruzelli dropped more unanswered punches to the face. Then the referee stepped in to stop the fight. There you go boys and gals, Kimbo is not as good as he was hyped up to be.
Tonight’s other televised fights:
Murillo “Ninja” Rua gets KOd by Teamquest member in Benji Radach. This was a good exciting fight that entertained until the end.
Gina Carano takes Kelly Kobold to a decision. A pretty good fight. Although, I was hoping to see a KO, but Carano shows another strong performace. Her next fight will be with Christiana Santos, which should be a true test for Carano.
Jake Shields adds another win on his record when he armbarred the muay thai fighter in Paul Daley. A decent fight. although, I still think that this should have been an easier fight for Shields since Daley isn’t known for his ground game. Shield had a hard time taking Daley down. After multiple attempts, he was finally able to secure the armbar to end the fight. With tonight’s performance, I still don’t think that Shields in top 3 in the 170 lb. division.
Andrei Arlovski vs. Roy Nelson wasn’t just a fight between the 2 fighters. The referee made sure to stand the fight up early so that Arlovski can KO Nelson. Nelson had a good position in the 1st round but the referee decided to reset the fight for fear that Arlovski might get submitted. Arlovski looked bad on the ground. His defense was almsot non-existent. Of course, Arlovski wins the fight via KO since Nelson wasn’t able to take him down anymore. Arlovski’s weakness is his ground game. This is an entertaining fight but the referee’s involvement left a bad taste in my mouth.
Overall, this event was good. I would rate it an 8.5 out of 10.

So maybe I can be a main event fighter if I do some cool backyard fights?
