US Weekly reports that Bateman enraged many apple customers lined up for the iPhone. He was pulled from the line by an employee, and escorted straight into the store.
Bateman “outraged more than 2000 people” says US Weekly. But, Bateman denies the claims, he posted on twitter: “There wasn’t one boo. One hiss. Apple guy brought me in away from paparazzi. I was content in line. I wish I’d stayed.”
I don’t buy Bateman’s claim that there wasn’t one boo, or one hiss. Imagine being in line for hours, and a celebrity gets first dibs because he’s special. I’d be cursing for sure. But, at the same time, I don’t think that all 2000 iPhone fans were “outraged” as US Weekly reported. Anyhow, celebrities shouldn’t get special treatment in public places, but they do. Why? because it’s free publicity for companies like Apple to have celebrities use their products. It’s not fair, but who can blame them?
