With Nintendo announcing the release date for their next hand held system for February 26th in Japan, the hardcore fans braved the cold day to pre-order the 3DS. These photos were from twitter and taken by different people. This one was taken at Akihabara Yodobashi Camera store where 260 people lined up:

This is insane. I’ve heard of people lining up for midnight releases for movies and games but not for a pre-order.
Nintendo 3DS will be available in the U.S. on March 27, 2011. Save yourself some time and pre-order it at Amazon.com where it’s still available. Could this be the next Wii?
