Yvonne Arias plays perky reporter Maya Young on the new hit CW4Kids series Kamen Rider: Dragon Knight. Kamen Rider is exciting and action-packed. It can be seen every Saturday morning at 11:30am on The CW Network as part of their CW4Kids Saturday morning lineup.
Recently, NERDSociety.com interviewed Ms. Arias and we asked her about her career and her awesome series, Kamen Rider: Dragon Knight. She is the second cast member we interviewed from the series after the awesome Matt Mullins.
NERDSociety (NS): Yvonne, Tell our readers a little about yourself. I read that you started off as an office worker and certain events led you to a career in acting. I’ve always admired people’s desire to purse their passion. How was that journey?
Yvonne Arias (YA): The journey has been interesting and fun. It was a real risk to quit my job and not know what I was going to do. At that time, I wanted to be a host, and I was able to put my own show together. It was really exciting and so many opportunities opened up, including acting!
NS: Why do you also go by the name Aria Alistar?
YA: It was a name I used for a character I developed in acting class.
NS: Did you audition for the role of Maya? How was that experience? What appealed to you about her character?
YA: When I auditioned for the role of Maya, loved that it was a Lois Lane type character. She’s a hot, smart, strong woman trying to save the world!
NS: Can you give our readers any tips for those aspiring actors and actresses out there ?
YA: Study, maintain a good attitude and have ultra self-confidence!!!
NS: How was it working with the cast and crew of Kamen Rider: Dragon Knight? NERDSociety recently interviewed your co-star Matt Mullins and he was a great guy.
YA: We had so much fun on set. We were serious and focused when appropriate but I feel pretty lucky to have worked with such an awesome cast and crew.
NS: Is there going to be a love story involving your character with either Matt or Stephen’s characters on Kamen Rider?
YA: Wouldn’t you like to know, hahaha. You’ll have to watch and find out =D
NS: When you are out and about are you recognized often? Do kids know you from the Kamen Rider series yet?
YA: The show’s still taking off, but i do get recognized. Very flattering.
NS: Do you have one memorable fan interaction you’d like to share? Any kids get freaked out yet when they meet you?
YA: I was having lunch recently with some good friends at Papa Cristo’s in Hollywood and these two kids (around 5) and their dad kept staring at me. One of the little boys finally got the nerve to talk to me. It was really sweet.
NS: What kind of roles are you hoping to do in the future?
YA: Definitely Woody Allen films, The Hobbit, Batman, some romantic comedy…
NS: Do you have an official site or a place our readers can contact you?
YA: Yes, please friend request me at myspace.com/ariaalistar
NS: Do you have any traits that could be considered nerdy or geeky?
YA: I study a lot, lots of reading….
NS: How do you deal with negativity ?
YA: I try to avoid it at all costs.
NS: Finally, what would you like to say to all your fans and fans of the series Kamen Rider: Dragon Knight.
YA: Please continue to watch and spread the word!! Thanks and don’t forget, our toys come out in a few months!!!
